If you’ve ever wanted scientific proof that eating vegetables keeps you looking young and beautiful here it is!
From: Eunsun Jung et al. Nutr Res. 2015 Feb.
Skin aging appears to be principally attributed to a decrease in type I collagen level and the regeneration ability of dermal fibroblasts. We hypothesized that vegetable peptones promote cell proliferation and production of type I collagen in human dermal fibroblasts. Therefore, we investigated the effects of vegetable peptones on cell proliferation and type I collagen production and their possible mechanisms in human dermal fibroblasts. Vegetable peptones significantly promoted cell proliferation in a concentration-dependent manner.
So basically if you eat more fresh, lightly cooked & raw vegetables you will be consuming more vegetable peptones which boosts collagen production. Collagen is what makes your skin look young, plump and healthy. It stops you from getting wrinkles until you’re 60…🤣
Think about the difference between a raisin & a grape.
Do you want your skin to look more like a grape or a raisin?
Dermal fibroblasts which produce collagen are an essential component of skin. They not only produce & organize the extracellular matrix of the dermis but they also communicate with each other and other cell types, playing a crucial role in regulating skin physiology.
So if you want clear, glowing plump skin eat your vegetables!
Don’t over cook them, they are better under rather than over cooked.

Among the existing growth factors, we highlight the fibroblast growth factor (FGF), which induces the synthesis of type 1 collagen and therefore presents a relevant role in the process of skin aging control. In the search for new anti-aging compounds, one of the strategies used for skin revitalization and wrinkle treatment is the stimulation of collagen formation. Collagen is the protein responsible for the structure, elasticity, & firmness of the skin & it is produced by cells called fibroblasts.
