Great Traders Trust Themselves…
Trading is all about surrender, you make an intelligent well educated decision and then you walk away.
When you do this you are being vulnerable, your money is on the line, you are trusting your instincts, you are vulnerable and you are taking a risk when you place that trade, whether it makes you money or not is irrelevant.
What’s relevant and what’s going to determine how much money you make is how you react, if you make a decision to buy
the GBP/USD because the Claimant count change has reduced and the market stalls for 3 hours before going up by 100 pips and you relax and wait patiently, whilst keeping an eye on it then you will still make a good profit.
You’re able to make this money because you can surrender, you can let go and focus your energy on something else, you don’t obsessabout the outcome of your trade, you relax and focus on something else that you can do that’s productive, you may have a stop loss thereto protect you, you may have placed a options trade. If you trade options you don’t need to place a stop.
The point is successful traders are comfortable being vulnerable…
You’re vulnerable when you drive down s two way street, you trust the drivers on the other side of the road to stay on their side…
You’re vulnerable when you fly somewhere, you trust the pilot to fly you to where you want to go safely…
You’re vulnerable when you fall in love, you trust the other person not to break your heart…
You’re vulnerable when you eat at a restaurant, you trust the chef not to give you mouldy or contaminated food…
You’re vulnerable when you live in a apartment, you trust your neighbours not to leave the cooker on and start a fire…
You’re vulnerable when you go to the dentist, you trust them to fix your teeth not ruin them…
You’re vulnerable when you write a song or a book, you trust your target market to be respectful and appreciative and give you constructive criticism…
I’m being vulnerable by saying this and by releasing this song on Youtube…
I could go on all day about vulnerability, but you get my point, you have to be vulnerable to take risks, and you have to take risks to be successful and happy in life. If you wrap yourself in cotton wool then you will be safe but not forever, eventually something will find a way to get to you and ruin your equilibrium if you are not actively responding to changes in positive productive ways.
The world is always changing, you can’t change that fact, so you have to learn to accept vulnerability whilst also using your common sense…
Common sense isn’t necessarily common, most people are too careless and vulnerable, or too protective and guarded.
Your goal is to be vulnerable and wise…
Always read between the lines…;)
